What this page is

This page quotes r/TattooRemoval's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-10. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/TattooRemoval's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Welcome to /r/Tattooremoval. *PLEASE READ THE PINNED POST* This sub is intended to discuss laser tattoo removal. We are here to give you support and information on your tattoo removal journey. Please do not ask how sessions you need for removal, but feel free to share your concerns, progress, and frustrations! Good luck!

What its rules say about promotion

No spamming.
Do not spam the sub with links to at-home removal methods, low-quality at-home lasers, advertisements, or spam links to your business.
No advertising.
No advertising of services or products in this sub. This includes buying or selling of used laser machines.
All 11 rules of r/TattooRemoval
  1. No asking if your tattoo can be completely removed.
No one can guarantee complete removal, so asking this question is no longer allowed. Please understand that this is to assist you with managing your own expectations as well as the expectations of others who are new to tattoo removal. There is valuable information in the FAQs in the pinned post, please start there!
  2. Do not tell people how many sessions they will need or that a tattoo is completely removable.
Do not advise how many treatments someone will need or that a tattoo can be completely removed. We do not want to set people up with unrealistic expectations. First offense will result in a warning. Repeated offenses will result in a permanent ban.
  3. No asking for an estimation of sessions or timeframe.
No one is able to accurately answer this, and anyone who tries to is just guessing. This rule is in place to manage the influx of posts with this exact question, as well as your own expectations and anxieties. Please read the FAQs in the pinned post
  4. Do not ask for or give opinions on tattoos.
This community is meant to be one of support throughout the removal process. It is not intended to advise whether or not to keep a tattoo, therefore, “I regret my tattoo” and “Should I keep this or get it removed?” posts will be removed. Additionally, giving opinions on others’ tattoos being good/bad/cute/ugly/well or poorly done will also be removed. There are other subs for that and we don’t want this to turn into a tattoo rating subreddit.
  5. Do not post any potentially dangerous advice.
Do not post any advice suggesting anything that could be dangerous. This includes at-home removal methods, non-laser methods, supplements, or the ingesting of any medications or substances. Repeated offenses result in a permanent ban.
  6. Be civil. Insults and hateful comments have no place here.
It is possible to disagree without insulting one another. Repeated offenses will result in a ban. Slurs and/or hateful language including, but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobic or transphobic slurs will result in an immediate ban.
  7. No commenting on the physical appearance of any user.
Do not make comments on personal appearance or body of any user, regardless of intention or nature. This means no sexual comments (even intended as a compliment) and no comments that could be construed as bullying. Users are posting vulnerable questions and photos here, and we want to foster a subreddit that feels safe for anyone to do so. If you are found in violation of this rule, you will be banned on the first offense.
  8. No spamming.
Do not spam the sub with links to at-home removal methods, low-quality at-home lasers, advertisements, or spam links to your business.
  9. No advertising.
No advertising of services or products in this sub. This includes buying or selling of used laser machines.
  10. Stay on Topic
This sub is about tattoo removal only. Please keep posts on topic.
  11. At home tattoo removal discussion is not permitted.
The discussion of any at-home tattoo removal, including but not limited to DIY salabrasion techniques or purchase of lasers for personal use will result in removal of post and possible ban.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
