Can you promote on r/uber?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/uber's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/uber's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

This subreddit provides a place for Uber riders and drivers to discuss their experiences. Its sister subreddit is /r/uberdrivers. This subreddit has zero corporate influence from any outside entity.

What its rules say about promotion

1. No promo code, referral links, etc.
Posting, requesting, or discussing promo codes, referral links, discount codes or anything similar is not allowed. Violations will be removed and the poster is subject to ban. Message the mods if you've been banned for this and wanta second review. This includes non-Uber/Lyft related referral links and promos, including Amazon links with referral tags.
2. No spam, advertising, or blogspam
Don't promote your subreddit, site, blog, YouTube channel, product, campaign, group, organization, tool or charity without prior approval from the moderators. Don't promote someone else's product, either. We are open to allowing new companies or technologies to introduce themselves via a single AMA post. **Coordinate with the mods beforehand.** Otherwise buy a reddit ad.
5. No outside surveys or polls
If you want to gather information from this community to help your business or academic study, or to help you with a school assignment, you must buy a reddit ad. They are cheap. In rare circumstances we will allow surveys. Message us if you think your venture is so great you should be granted free and unfettered access to this community. **Users: any mod-approved survey will have a clearly distinguished moderator comment indicating why we have allowed the OP**.

  3. 3. No personal attacks, harassment, or bigotry
Brazen shitposts that attack or harass a specific user without providing any logical argument are subject to removal. If your personal argument with another user does nothing to contribute to the OP's thread, your comment may be removed. **Profanity and stout disagreement in and of itself is not necessarily against our rules, but you must adhere to Rule #4 at all times**. New offenders will be warned or temporarily banned. Repeat offenders will be banned permanently.
  4. 4. Your post must contribute to ongoing discussion
Trolling, low-effort questions (which could be answered by reading the FAQ or searching), and other posts which do not meaningfully contribute to discussion are subject to removal. Posts that advocate illegal behavior will be removed. No gore, porn, or other shocking content that isn’t part of a validated news story and/or doesn't respect the privacy and welfare of the victims. Disturbing content (e.g. photos of shooting victims) that is marked NSFW and is from a newsworthy may be allowed.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
