What its rules say about promotion
Free-Shard Criticism
If a free-shard is publicly advertising or posting in this subreddit, it is open to criticism. - Criticism will not be removed unless it is vulgar or obscene. - Shard owners operating publicly should expect scrutiny. - Moderators will not verify whether claims about shards are true or false.
No spam or low-effort promotion
If you’re promoting something (including a shard), put effort into it and engage with the community. Repeated or low-effort self-promotion will be removed. Please do not post personal projects or spiritual successors that are not in professional development or in a playable state.
Respect Official Flair
If a post uses **Official** flair, keep discussion focused on official Ultima Online. Do not advertise private servers or derail those threads.

- Act like an adult
This is a niche, mostly 40+ community. Act like it. Use common sense. Disagreement is fine, but be civil. Minimal moderation exists because it’s rarely needed. - Stay on Topic
All posts and comments must be related to Ultima Online. Real-world politics, religion, and current events are off-topic and will be removed. - Free-Shard Criticism

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
