What this page is

This page quotes r/UsbCHardware's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/UsbCHardware's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

What its rules say about promotion

No referral or affiliate links
Don't post a link you benefit from in any way, if it isn't Original Content.
All 5 rules of r/UsbCHardware
  1. Be nice to each other
This means no harassment of any nature, respecting other opinions and minding [reddiquette](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette).
  2. No non-USB-C posts
This is self-explanatory, but please don't post content that isn't directly related to USB Type C. Making a joke in the comments is fine of course, but please don't post content that clearly belongs in another sub.
  3. No low-effort Questions
When recommending a product, provide a link and add a creative title. When looking for help finding a certain product at least *try* searching beforehand. A detailed description of your requirements (e.g. other hardware you want to use the product with, like your phone or laptop) can go a long way to get a quick and helpful answer!
  4. No referral or affiliate links
Don't post a link you benefit from in any way, if it isn't Original Content.
  5. Flair your post
There are multiple flairs to choose from. Here are the most common ones: - *Looking for Device*: Looking for a device with specific capabilities? Use this flair and get some suggestions. - *Question*: General questions about USB-C. "Does <insert device features here> exist?" is **not** a question, you're looking for Device! - *News*: Articles, news, or newly released devices. - *Discussion*: Found something cool or want to post a rant? Discuss it with the community!

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
