What this page is

This page quotes r/Witch's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Witch's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

A more laid-back place for witches of all experience levels and walks of life to talk about witchcraft and all of its little nuances.

What its rules say about promotion

No advertising, spam, or self-promotion
The following are not allowed, except in the monthly self-promo thread pinned at the top of r/Witch: * ads for readings or spells * Discord servers * links to your Etsy, YouTube, TikTok etc. * indirect advertising (sharing photos of items for sale and waiting for people to ask about them) * gauging interest or crowdsourcing ideas for your shop * link or karma farming (such as spamming the same thing in many subreddits) * directing people to links in your profile * other forms of self-promotion

What its rules say about AI and bots

No Generative AI
Posts or comments created with the help of generative AI (AI-written or AI-edited text, AI-generated images etc.) are not allowed. Even if your post is only "edited" by AI, please submit the pre-AI-edit version instead. Using machine translation (e.g. Google Translate) to translate your post into English is allowed, but please mention that in your post.
All 10 rules of r/Witch
  1. Be good to each other
r/Witch does not tolerate insulting, demeaning, hateful, or abusive language. This includes language or rhetoric directed towards any gender, identity, sexuality, race, religion, or nationality and transphobia, homophobia, white supremacy, misogyny, misandry etc. Please respect others' beliefs. Preaching or proselytizing is not allowed. Do not advocate for cultural appropriation: the idea that anyone, uninvited, can publicly claim practices and/or the identity of a closed religion or culture.
  2. No off-topic posts
Posts must focus on the real-life practice of witchcraft. The following are off-topic: * Paranormal activity, supernatural abilities etc. * Manifestation / Law of Attraction * Fantasy witchcraft art * Meetups and personals (see r/paganpenpals, r/paganr4r, or r/covenfinder instead)
  3. Posting guidelines
Requests for spells or magical advice must meet these guidelines: 1. **Posts must not trauma unload** (sharing too many details about assault, abuse, conflict etc.). Our community is not equipped to handle such posts. 2. Discussion of magic and witchcraft must be **more than half of the post**. 3. **Please don't just ask for a spell.** We're happy to help you finish a spell or give you advice on specific steps or ingredients, but you must have put in some effort before asking the community.
  5. No requests or offers for spiritual services
No requests or offers for spiritual services, such as hexing, spell casting, divination, or mentoring. No DM solicitations for the purpose of recruiting people to mentor or privately help. If you have advice for someone, please offer it publicly. We do not allow such content because of the high incidence of scams, manipulation, and abuse associated with these topics. If someone messages you or comments offering these services, you may be pulled into a scam or spiritually abusive relationship.
  6. Do not put yourself or others at risk of harm
Do not request or offer serious medical or mental health advice, legal advice, or other potentially harmful advice. Do not post harmful content, including personal information, information that incites brigading, or information that perpetuates direct harm to humans or animals.
  7. NSFW content guidelines
NSFW content is allowed, but must be directly related to witchcraft. Nudity is only allowed in very narrow circumstances, such as displaying body art. Content designed primarily to arouse or shock will be removed, including sex acts, gore, violence, or abuse. All NSFW content must be tagged.
  8. Posts better suited to the bi-weekly discussion thread
The following posts should be posted in the bi-weekly discussion thread: * Introductions, selfies, getting started questions * Readings or interpretations of: tarot, egg cleanses, cord cutting spells etc. * Entity or deity identifications * Paranormal activity, strange occurrences, dreams, "Is this a sign?" * Symbol identifications, "Is this thing I saw related to witchcraft?"
  10. Familiar photos may be posted on Familiar Fridays only
Please select the appropriate flair for these posts.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
