What this page is

This page quotes r/wowaddons's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-04. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/wowaddons's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

Promotion Limits (Spam Control)
Max 1 release post and 2 major update posts per week per addon. Do not create new posts for minor bug fixes. Exceptions require prior Modmail approval. Do not spam or repost commission requests or questions just because they went unanswered.
Relevance & Prohibited Addons
Content must be WoW-related. External apps or sites are acceptable if they directly relate to WoW. Addons designed for in-game spamming, advertising, or automation are strictly prohibited. No politics.

What its rules say about AI and bots

Code Quality, AI Responsibility & Disclosure
AI tools are allowed, but you are fully responsible for your code. If you use AI for any part of your addon (code, text, or assets like icons and textures), you must include an "AI Disclaimer:" in your post explaining its use. Releases must not contain unnecessary global variables, severe performance issues, or deprecated code. We audit code transparently using Ketho's WoW API extension. Undisclosed AI usage or poorly optimized AI code will result in post removal.
Posting Standards & Language
English only. All posts must have a correct flair and actual text content. You may use AI for translation or grammar checking, but fully AI-generated descriptions and emoji-heavy text are prohibited. Descriptions must accurately explain features. Addons with UI elements must include screenshots. Image-only posts without context, clickbait, and misrepresentation are prohibited.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
