Check setup for my AI and computer
Will it work with my setup?
Choose your AI client and computer to see the steps before you buy. Your AI plan is separate; ThreadFox runs locally through your Chrome.
Claude Desktop · install the extension
- Use a Claude Desktop build that supports local extensions. From your private buyer library, download
ThreadFox.mcpb, open it with Claude and click Install. - Start a new regular chat. Desktop supplies Python; ThreadFox prepares Node.js if needed. The Code view uses the terminal path instead.
- Add Microsoft’s Playwright Extension to your Chrome, sign in to Reddit, then choose Set up ThreadFox under + or type
set up ThreadFox.
Linux: Claude Desktop is in beta. Confirm your build offers local extension installation. If opening the file does not offer Install, choose Claude Code or Codex and use the terminal route. Current Linux requirements.
Claude Code or Codex · use your library’s installer
- Install and sign in to your AI client on this computer first. It must support local tools.
- From your private library, copy the command for your system into PowerShell on Windows, or Terminal on macOS/Linux. Keep the full command private. It installs the tools and registers the supported clients it finds.
- Restart the AI client. Add Microsoft’s Playwright Extension to Chrome, sign in to Reddit, and ask your AI to
set up ThreadFox.
The installer uses Python 3.10+ and Node.js 18+, or downloads checksum-verified copies for supported systems. No administrator rights are needed for the ThreadFox installer. Keep the AI client and Chrome on the same computer.
Use a computer to run the tools
A phone or browser-only chat can read your library and claim the included Launch Pack, but cannot run these local tools. The pack is a one-product plan and three drafts, emailed within 24 hours of your library claim.
Continue on a computer with Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex. If you want our team to run the campaign, Managed is a separate service.
Ready means: after the first Chrome tab-selection prompt, the tool check passes and your AI shows the intended Reddit username. Installing a client alone does not prove the connection. Keep normal permission prompts enabled.
Full setup steps & troubleshooting · Already bought it? Open your library
We used ThreadFox to find your Reddit thread. Use the same tools to find useful threads, check the rules, write posts and replies, and follow up. Set it up once on your computer with a compatible AI client, Chrome and your Reddit account. Your AI service is separate. Keep using the tools beyond the three included drafts.
How AI fits in. Your AI runs the tools through your own Chrome. You set the direction and authorize the work. It checks current rules, writes, posts once and follows up. Rules, account limits and AI permission prompts still apply.
We run it on ourselves. On October 12 it brought 1,994 people from Reddit to this site. What it brings you depends on your product and what you say.

ThreadFox browser demo: one test post and reply (October 7, 2026)
I make ThreadFox, a toolkit that connects AI clients to Reddit through Chrome. This is a controlled test in r/test for a product demonstration: the tool fills this text, publishes once, and reads the resulting link. One reply will test the conversation step. No customer or campaign result is being claimed.
Reply (body only)
This is the reply step of the ThreadFox connection test. The tool submitted this through the same signed-in Chrome connection. Product and setup guide: https://threadfox.vip/guide . This is a technical demonstration, not a testimonial or sales result.
A real r/test recording, with pauses shortened. Transcript

All 8 of its rules for posts, word for word
- We Do Not Issue Temporary Bans This subreddit attracts a lot of spam, low-quality content, and lost users; it is extremely labor-intensive to run and therefore we DO NOT give second chances. Either you abide by the rules or you get banned permanently. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse - they are right here in white and black (or black and white if you're a Light Mode user)
- This subreddit is for established YouTube creators only r/YouTubers is a community for people who are already creating content on YouTube and want to improve their channels, strategy, and craft. It is not for people who are “thinking about starting,” have not uploaded yet, or are just here as viewers/fans. Basic “How do I start a channel / get views / get monetized?” questions and general YouTube troubleshooting are not allowed. Subreddits for New YouTubers exist - use them instead.
- No self-promotion or engagement begging You may not link your own videos or channel in posts or comments, or ask others to share theirs, except where explicitly allowed (e.g., the Monthly Show-Off Thread and properly formatted Review/Critique posts). No “check out my channel,” “Is my latest video good?”, “sub for sub,” “watch time exchanges,” or “DM me for collab/Discord” posts or comments. Promotion of non-YouTube content (apps, tools, services, coaching, courses, etc.) or referral/affiliate codes is never allowed.
- Review & Critique Posts Have Strict Format and Requirements [Review Video] and [Channel Critique] posts are heavily regulated to keep them useful and fair. Misuse of these posts will result in loss of privileges or a full ban. These posts will be restricted by User Flair. Refer to the Wiki for the specific format and rules for these posts.
- No Spam, Surveys, Services, or Hoodwinkery Posts or comments that exist primarily to sell, promote, or drive traffic to a product, service, app, platform, course, survey, or website are considered spam and you will be banned for it. This includes “feedback forms,” “market research,” “beta tests,” and disguised self-promo (“I found this great tool…”). Any kind of trickery, auto-subscribing links, or failure to disclose your relationship to what you’re linking will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
- Be Civil and Stay on Topic Keep discussion professional and respectful. Personal attacks, harassment, bigotry, or dog-piling are not permitted. This subreddit is for creator-side discussion, not viewer gossip or drama: no threads about other YouTubers’ personal lives, cancel culture, or “what about this YouTuber?” posts. General YouTube “news” or rants are only allowed when they’re clearly framed around how it affects creators and their work.
- Posting Requires Verified Flair and Ongoing Good Standing To post or comment here, you must have a user flair obtained by reading the rules and agreeing to them in the pinned instructions post. Additional flair levels (based on your subreddit karma and participation) unlock more types of posts, such as Tips & Tricks, Review/Critique threads, and Show-Off participation. Poor-quality comments or posts will result in loss of privileges. Misuse of Post Flairs or attempting to subvert the system will result in an immediate permanent ban.
- No discussion of AI content creation, enhancements, tools, or workflows If you are going to be lazy and rely on AI to do your work (poorly) for you, you can rely on AI to (also poorly) answer your questions. Discussions here are to be focused on human-created content and human-centric workflows. Any mention of having an AI-generated channel, content, or workflow, or any suggestion to "Just Let AI Do It, Bro" will result in an immediate ban.

- Self-promo must be earned You CAN link to your content, but only if you provide equivalent value to the community. Share what's working/flopping for you, show your hidden stats and numbers for reference, or otherwise contribute tips or info in some way. If you're only here to ask for likes and follows, that's spam and will be removed.
- Help others help you If you want great answers, ask great questions. Make your question specific, link to your content, share any relevant numbers, explain what you've tried so far, and provide any other contextual info. Poorly asked questions will be removed, or you'll just end up getting no/weak engagement.
- No low-effort content Your post doesn't need to win prizes, but avoid vague titles, write a thoughtful post descriptions, and make sure your comments are adding something to the discussion. Low-effort content may be removed at the mod team's discretion for not meeting our minimum bar for quality.
- Don't promote illegal activities Exploring the boundaries of a platform's recommendations is one thing, but something like promoting the purchase of likes and followers is straight up against FTC rules (and the equivalent in many other countries).

their rules do not settle it; ask the moderators first
“We don't allow developers to post about their product directly as a post or spam our comments with their product, regardless of how good it is.”
All 17 of its rules for posts, word for word
- Don't be a jerk It's totally fine to disagree. Do so politely. Behave as an adult. Name calling, doxing etc is not okay here. Try not to be caustic. Life is hard enough. Treat everyone "as if" they're having a bad day and you'll be fine. Disagree if you like - just don't be disagreeable. Remember there's a human being on the other side of the keyboard.
- Feedback/Critique/What software/hardware? Use the megathread These are very common needs - we have a monthly thread for them. Please use it.
- Zero Piracy or Discussion of Piracy, or other Circumvention of IP Law. (Bannable immediately) We don't want people to rip off our work, we shouldn't rip off theirs. This includes content and software. Allowances will be made for fair use, however.
- Pick a subreddit for your post - not both (either here or /r/editors Either you're a professional (post /r/editors) or you're not (post here). Only in some rare circumstances should you be posting in both places.
- No rates - it's impossible to answer. Ok, we get it. "How much to charge." Whatever your question - we can't REALLY answer it. It has WAY too much to do with the gig, how long it takes, where you live and hell, what your time is worth. Deeper thoughts are part of two wiki entries found from our professional sister sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/editors/about/wiki/index/
- Developer (at any level?) Use the Developer thread We don't allow developers to post about their product directly as a post or spam our comments with their product, regardless of how good it is. We have a dedicated thread for you to use. Please use it and obey the rules for it
- No advertising your video-related services The purpose of the subreddit is to provide advice and help for hobbyist editors. If you are trying to find new clients /r/forhire may be a more appropriate place for such posts. Free isn't okay either. If you want to do free work, we recommend that you find someone local (friends, non profit, a hobby film group) who needs help
- No use of URL shorteners URL shorteners are helpful in character-limited social media settings, but with Reddit's 10,000 character limit and ability to obscure a link within markdown, they are unnecessary and can be used to obscure where someone is being directed to, which may be abused to direct people to unsafe websites, or to generate revenue by way of an advertising landing page (which we view as spam). An exception to this rule will be made for Approved Submitters.
- No advertising of spammy or license-abusive software This applies to software known to abuse either existing closed-source licenses or known to be abusing open source licenses. Brorsoft is a prime example of a company stealing Open Source video processing code and reselling it without permission.
- Tutorials on Tuesday If you want to post a tutorial you created - then it belongs on tuesdays with [TUTORIAL] at the start and the name of the software. If it's someone elses tutorial, then you should be posting as text - including the "what I learned" from the tutorial
- No "work for free" Why would you go to a place where everyone uses these tools and say "I do it too!". Go to your local charity (or interest) and ask if they need editing instead.
- No promoting your YouTube channel This is not a subreddit for people to promote their YouTube channel, or otherwise drive traffic to their channel in order to inflate their viewership/subscription numbers. People posting links to their own YouTube channels is allowed for critiquing, sharing of content for others to use, or on [Tutorial] Tuesday. However posting links for the sole purpose of promoting your YouTube channel is not allowed, and repeated violation can result in a ban.
- Discord- we're not interested. Look, we get it. Discord is the cool communications of today. Go look at IRC, ICQ, Slack and the other dozen chatrooms that have existed for 20+years. Since you're not going to give it over to the admins here and we can't authenticate against reddit, we can't recommend it.
- Low Effort posts Yeah, we get it. You want to create a discussion, controversy or want your answers on a plate. We expect some effort and some space to be relevant. And yes, this is totally on the mod's discretion.
- Posting a JOB? Here are the key rules The rules are simple, It is an exchange of work against time. - You have to make it the pricing a $/hr. It's not "Up to" in pricing. If it's a range *state the range* - The thread will get locked. People DM you. Not IG, not a form, you want filled out. You have to deal with the people applying Everything else will get rejected. Anything else is exploitative - such as per video, per minute or a shared revenue system.
- sidebar ---- ## Have a question about: ## Monthly "What software should I use?" ## Monthly thread for "What hardware should I use?" ## Monthly *Feedback on your edit* # You can find these in the "READ BEFORE YOU POST" thread. --- ##THREE IMMEDIATELY Bannable Offenses: * Posting your "video editing services" (No, not free either) * Discussion or advocacy of piracy * Referral programs Be respectful. We expect everyone to be civil and generally not act like a jerk. -------------------- ##Our Wiki with Common questions/answers ------------------ ##What We Are: * A place where people can ask questions about editing, from storytelling to technique to technical tricks * A place where people can seek feedback on their work (please use the monthly threads) * A resource for people to learn new things about editing ##What We Are Not: * A source for free labor — You'll be expected to volunteer your time or pay. Otherwise, finding someone in your local community is best. Do not look for free work here. * Someone to do your homework for you — Do your own work. * Help in circumventing copy protection or other forms of content protection — That's piracy, and that's not allowed here. * A place to show off your work — Feel free to ask for some constructive criticism in our feedback thread, but this is not a place to advertise your YouTube channel. There are other subreddits where that is more appropriate, like /r/Videos, /r/YouTube_startups, /r/SmallYTChannel, and /r/YouTubers even has monthly show-off threads. * A complete substitute for tech support — There's no problem asking about common errors or problems, workarounds for glitches, annoying limitations, but at some point, especially with some of the less commonly used tools, like PowerDirector and Filmora, you may wish to contact the developer's tech support services as well as posting here. * A place where you can "fish" and take advantage of people. If you want to post a job, *we expect you to quote some sort of pay* - hourly, daily, weekly etc. AND how long you expect the job to take. ------------ ###Pinned weekly threads for "What software" and a monthly thread for "Feedback" are at the top. Posts about these subjects will be deleted otherwise. ------------------- ###Other rules: If you want to post a job, we expect you to quote some sort of pay - hourly, daily, weekly etc. Or how long you expect the job to take. Create a tutorial? Great - Tuesdays only; start it as "[Tutorial] NAME OF SOFTWARE" ------------------- Pro editor? *(do you have clients?)* Try /r/Editors If you're working for pay professionally, you should be posting in /r/Editors If you're working with RED, finishing via Resolve? /r/Editors If you're editing for yourself, and it's a hobby? /r/VideoEditing is probably the right place. ------------- ##Related Communities: * /r/EditLines — Want to see what a Professional's timeline looks like? * /r/Videography — A subreddit more about the production side of making videos, that is working with cameras, microphones, lighting, and so forth * /r/AfterEffects — Specializing in motion graphics * /r/VFX — Reddit's own special effects subreddit * /r/Filmmakers — A more generalize filmmaking subreddit * Crime? /r/RBI - Reddit Bureau of Investigation (best place to get a crime solved) Great post on Why snow/confetti ruin YouTube Quality.
- posting guidelines #Before You Post: ##Read the rules and guidelines in the side bar! ### Post your video in the monthly FEEDBACK THREAD. ### Post "What software should I use" in the weekly THREAD. If you are posting about a technical problem please include your system specifications, including your CPU, amount of RAM, Operating System and version, Storage configuration, the Origin of your videos and the format of the video (file type, codecs, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, etc.). If relevant please include any export or rendering settings that you are using. There's no such thing as too much information. If you're doing this professionally, have clients, want to talk about 4k workflows, color grading - this isn't the right place to post. That's /r/editors. If you're editing for yourself? Then go ahead and press post!

Making something else? Look up your own product
A few things before you start.
What do I need?
Your own Claude or Codex plan (Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Codex), your Reddit account, and a computer with Chrome for the one-time setup. After that you can start and follow runs from the Claude app on your phone with Remote Control (Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise): it drives the session on your computer, so the computer needs to be on. Watch the setup walkthrough.
What arrives after payment?
Your private library with the ThreadFox installer and connection guide. Connect your AI and Chrome, give it your business brief and let it carry out the outreach you authorize. Claim your included Launch Pack there: a researched community plan and three tailored post drafts for one product, emailed within 24 hours of your claim.
Will it post automatically?
Yes. Once connected, your AI can research, write, publish and follow up within the permissions you give it. ThreadFox supplies the tools and workflow; your AI client runs the job. Keep the required computer and client running for active work. Community rules, account restrictions and your client's permission prompts still apply.
What if it is not for me?
The kit has a 30-day self-service refund. Your free plan stays free.
Does this guarantee customers?
No. The demo proves that the tools can publish a post and reply. Results depend on your offer, the conversations available and how people respond. See our recorded runs.
