What this page is

This page quotes r/1200isplenty's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/1200isplenty's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about AI and bots

No AI content
This is a human community. No AI-generated posts, comments, images, or AI slop. Posts about AI calorie-counting apps are not allowed either. They are lazy at best and inaccurate at worst. We’re here for real human advice, accountability, and discussion. If that’s not what you’re looking for, this probably isn’t the right sub for you.
All 9 rules of r/1200isplenty
  1. No eating disorder content.
We do not allow any content related to eating disorders or disordered eating behaviors. Please focus on positive contributions to the community. Users who post ED related content or contribute in other ED related subs will be permanently banned.
  2. Be respectful.
Disagreement is fine, name-calling, hate speech, etc is not. Discuss and dissent like an adult.
  3. Don't encourage <1200 kcal/day.
Although it is impossible to articulate a specific minimum caloric intake that is applicable to all humans, health professionals do set generally applicable guidelines: 1200 calories per day for women, and 1500 calories per day for men. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
  4. Post progress pictures in the megathread.
Progress pictures, or screenshots of pounds lost, must be posted in the weekly megathread or submitted as part of a longer text-post. While progress pictures are inspiring, the response to progress posts tends to dwarf the response to posts that are more relevant to /r/1200isplenty.
  5. Read the FAQ before posting.
To reduce the number of repeatedly asked questions (e.g. "What should I buy at Trader Joe's?"), we ask that you please read the [subreddit FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/1200isplenty/wiki/faq) before posting.
  6. Do not ask for help estimating the calories
Estimating caloric content from a picture is near impossible. Make the best estimates that you can on your own and remember that no single meal or day will dramatically throw you off course. This rule also applies to "which dish at this restaurant is lowest in calories" types of posts and "do you think this is accurate" types of posts. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
  7. Do not criticize the appearance or content of other's food.
Do not criticize the appearance, the nutritional content, or the preparation method of someone else's food or diet. You're welcome to make helpful suggestions on how you prefer preparing a food, as long as your comment is phrased respectfully. For example, "[X] is great! I enjoy eating it with [Y]" or "That looks amazing, but I don't like [X]; anyone have ideas for substitutions?" are fine.
  8. No misinformation

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
