What this page is

This page quotes r/ancientegypt's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/ancientegypt's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about AI and bots

No AI content
Content generated primarily or entirely by AI is not allowed.
All 12 rules of r/ancientegypt
  1. All posts must be factual and on-topic
All posts and discussions must be factual portrayals of Ancient Egypt. Conspiratorial, highly speculative, and extremely fringe views of Egyptology will be removed. Content that isn't about Ancient Egypt or is only partly related will be removed.
  2. Attribute all images as accurately as possible
Attribute all images as accurately as possible in the title and / or comments (date range (if known), location, source, any other relevant information).
  3. Posts must meet community standards of quality
All posts need to maintain a level of reasonable quality. Posts with low quality images, information, or content will be removed. Posts with poorly written headlines will be removed. Low effort posts or comments will be removed.
  4. No posts about the race or skin color of Ancient Egyptians
Posts about the race, skin color, place of origin, or heritage of Ancient Egyptians are not permitted outside of new studies published in reputable journals. This rule exists because discussions on this topic are too often uncivil, ambiguous, difficult to verify, and stray into modern politics.
  5. Be respectful towards other users
Treat each other with respect and kindness, remember there is a person behind every username
  6. No AI content
Content generated primarily or entirely by AI is not allowed.
  7. No advertising, soapboxing, or political arguments
  8. Don’t ask for help with homework
Asking for resources on specific topics is acceptable, but asking for exact answers to specific homework assignments is not.
  9. No spam links
Spam, including blogspam, is not permitted and will be removed
  10. Don't repost content previously removed by moderators
Do not knowingly repost content previously removed by moderators
  11. No hostility toward mods and no abuse of modmail
While reasonable feedback is acceptable, excessively argumentative, hostile, or abusive comments directed at moderators or their actions is not. Modmail should only be used for issues requiring special attention. Don’t report comments using modmail, and don’t use it to start individual debates with moderators.
  12. No excessive posting
Please refrain from posting more than 2-3 times in a 24 hour period. Excessive amounts of posts, especially when submitted rapidly, is considered spam.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
