What this page is
This page quotes r/aoe2's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/aoe2's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

A community for AoE2 enthusiasts
What its rules say about promotion
Low Effort Content
* Meme pictures are allowed if they have a clear connection to AoE2. However, only 10% of the front page should ever consist of them. * Ideas to improve the game are only allowed if effort is put into them. "Add the 'MURICANS to da game and giv them frreedum fighterz wwith 1776 attack" won't fly. * Simple questions are always allowed, but if you feel the question doesn't call for a separate thread, you can always save it for the weekly "Medieval Monday" thread.
Content Unrelated to AoE2
* All submissions must, in some way, relate to Age of Empires II, the whole series, or this subreddit. * Submissions related to other games in the series are probably better off in their relevant subs: >* /r/aoe >* /r/aoe3 >* /r/ageofmythology * Submissions about games/apps stealing content or assets from Age of Empires II will be removed. r/aoe2 can't do anything about this and posts only serve to advertise the games/apps in question. * This subreddit is not a place to discuss politics
Bad Behaviour
* Long story short, just be nice! * Create a welcoming atmosphere towards new players. * Do not use extreme language or racial slurs. * Do not mock people by referencing disabilities or diseases. * Do not be overly negative, hostile, belligerent, or offensive in any way. * NSFW content is never allowed, even if tagged. >Including nudity, or lewd references in comments and/or usernames. * Do not describe or promote violating any part of Microsoft's Terms of Service or Age of Empires II EULA.
Excessive Self-Promotion
* Do not spam the subreddit. >* You can post your own content to the subreddit, but you must also participate in discussions on reddit. >* As a rule of thumb, only 10% of your submissions should be self-promotion. >* For more information, check the side-wide [rules](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) on self-promotion. * You can promote your own events or streams as long as the above rules are observed.
Livestream Spam
* Generally, follow the above-mentioned rules on self-promotion. * If you want to share your stream with the community, please submit it to the sidebar [here](http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=Twitchy_the_bot&subject=Twitch.tv+request+%2Fr%2Faoe2&message=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.twitch.tv%2FUSERNAMEHERE). > It might take 10 minutes for your stream to show up in the sidebar. * Large events can be announced in advance (observing self-promotion rules).

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
