What this page is

This page quotes r/askSouthAfrica's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/askSouthAfrica's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

Taboo Subjects
We maintain a list of subjects that are taboo. Promotion of health misinformation, historical revisionism and a number of high emotive subjects are not welcome. Full list at https://www.reddit.com/r/askSouthAfrica/wiki/taboo/
Stay on topic
Please stay on topic. Do not promote a person, a cause, a party, a company, a product or anything unless it directly answers a question. AI generated answers are prohibited.
Nothing Illegal
If it is illegal within the borders of South Africa, then please keep it out of here. This includes: * asking where to buy controlled substances including cannabis or any other narcotics. * promoting others to commit a crime, * copy right infringement (take it to r/piracy) * traveling in and out of the country on a non-South African passport if you are a South African citizen/passport holder.
Dedicated Accounts
Accounts dedicated to promoting an agenda, idea, person, company or a product without mod approval are not welcome here. This behaviour is considered spam, and will be responded to accordingly. Rather speak with us first before posting.
Absolutely no spam, commercial advertising or AI garbage
Absolutely no spam, commercial advertising or AI garbage.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
