What this page is

This page quotes r/audioproduction's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/audioproduction's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

Binary Only (non open source) anonymous software promotion not permitted
Irresponsible promotion of binary-only (non open source) products, that also have no relevant commercial backing and commercial presence, are untrustworthy. Everyone and their dog can generate a new software suite, and if you want to post it here, it better have identifying information including your name and your company name, and where that company is registered, with a mailing address. If not your post may be removed.

What its rules say about AI and bots

AI Content is off topic
If the question involves the use of AI generated songs, music, or creative sound materials, the question is off topic for this sub, use an AI specific sub, for the tools you use.
All 5 rules of r/audioproduction
  1. Use other More Specific Reddits Where Possible
If you have a question about ProTools, post it over on a ProTools reddit. If you have a question about mixing and there’s a reddit all about mixing, ask it there. Ask here when it’s about audio production but not specific to one program, or specific topic.
  2. Discuss Specific Audio Production Tasks
"I need to remove room and fan noise from a recording" is a good question. "How can I get an AI to do everything for me", is a good question to ask on a more specific sub than this. "How can I do the following in cubase" is a good question to ask on a more specific sub than this. Use daw subs first. "How can I become a producer" is not an audio production question, it's a "vibes" quest, which is not on topic here.
  3. No Rate My Mix, NO Critique My Lyrics, NO Vagueposting.
There are other subs for rating this or critiquing that, or "how to make a beat". This sub is for specific questions. Specific: Does this audio interface have flexible stereo routing? Not-specific: Help me make a beat, I'm a noob who only knows how to type emojis.
  4. AI Content is off topic
If the question involves the use of AI generated songs, music, or creative sound materials, the question is off topic for this sub, use an AI specific sub, for the tools you use.
  5. Binary Only (non open source) anonymous software promotion not permitted
Irresponsible promotion of binary-only (non open source) products, that also have no relevant commercial backing and commercial presence, are untrustworthy. What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
