What this page is
This page quotes r/crtgaming's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-10. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/crtgaming's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

All 4 rules of r/crtgaming
- Keep Price & ID Checks, "Is This Good", and "Is This Worth It" posts to the Ask Here First Thread
Posts asking if a CRT for sale is good/decent or not, or worth picking up, are to be kept exclusively to the stickied "Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread" thread. This also applies to price check threads. IDing of a random CRT ALSO belongs here. Also applies to "which one is better?" or "which one should I choose?" posts. Posts violating this rule will be removed. - Keep WTB/WTS/Listings to the Listings Thread
All users wishing to list for sale, trade, or an interest in buying any equipment or otherwise should keep these posts exclusively to the Monthly Listing Thread which is stickied at the beginning of each new month. Standalone threads will be deleted and the poster warned, regardless of whether it has received responses or not. Exceptions: Repair/Calibration Services (Testimonials Preferred) Fantastic Finds/Lots Massive Freebies. Moderator discretion will be used. - Use Proper Etiquette for Troubleshooting Threads
If a part of your setup is having issues and you're seeking help, try and give as much information as possible when making the thread to expedite and help you may receive. If you're too vague and people have to go fishing for and coax the info out, they'll be less likely respond in the first place to try and solve your issue. If photos help, include as many as you feel is necessary; And never be afraid to be wordy. More words is more good. - Actually show set in use.
If you have a CRT and want to show it off, hook it up and show it playing a game of your choosing. Please do not just flood the sub with black screen, powered off sets in the back of a car with nothing of real substance to the post. Put in a little bit of effort at least. **Include the make and model of the set as well.** Exceptions may be made for fantastic finds or particularly cool and unique models.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
