What this page is

This page quotes r/djing's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/djing's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

A welcoming community for the craft of DJing: mixing, music selection, gear, gigs, turntablism, and creative performance. All experience levels are welcome—bring context, curiosity, and constructive feedback.

What its rules say about promotion

Self-promotion must contribute more than a link
Mixes, products, channels, events, services, surveys, and projects must include useful context and invite genuine discussion. Repeated promotion, affiliate links, unsolicited advertising, and link dumping are not allowed.
No buying, selling, hiring, or unsafe meetups
No marketplace listings, ticket sales, paid-service solicitations, or informal transactions. Local collaboration posts must not request free labor or expose personal contact information.

What its rules say about AI and bots

Titles and content must be clear and authentic
No misleading titles, engagement bait, impersonation, undisclosed AI-generated spam, repost farming, or manipulated claims. Credit original creators and disclose relevant affiliations.
All 8 rules of r/djing
  1. Be constructive and respect the person
Critique ideas, mixes, and techniques without insulting or gatekeeping people. Discrimination, harassment, threats, and personal attacks are not allowed.
  2. Keep posts meaningfully related to DJing
Posts should create discussion or share useful information about mixing, music selection, equipment, software, gigs, performance, turntablism, or DJ culture.
  3. Put effort into questions
Include your experience level, equipment or software, what you have tried, relevant constraints, and the specific outcome you want. Search the community before posting common questions.
  4. No piracy or unauthorized distribution
Do not request, provide, or encourage music or software piracy, stream ripping, leaked tracks, cracked software, or methods for bypassing licenses.
  5. Self-promotion must contribute more than a link
Mixes, products, channels, events, services, surveys, and projects must include useful context and invite genuine discussion. Repeated promotion, affiliate links, unsolicited advertising, and link dumping are not allowed.
  6. Use the correct flair and recurring thread
Choose the most accurate post flair. Routine mix sharing, purchase questions, and simple beginner questions may be redirected to recurring threads to keep the main feed varied.
  7. No buying, selling, hiring, or unsafe meetups
No marketplace listings, ticket sales, paid-service solicitations, or informal transactions. Local collaboration posts must not request free labor or expose personal contact information.
  8. Titles and content must be clear and authentic
No misleading titles, engagement bait, impersonation, undisclosed AI-generated spam, repost farming, or manipulated claims. Credit original creators and disclose relevant affiliations.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
