What this page is

This page quotes r/finalcutpro's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/finalcutpro's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

The sub is for discussions about Apple's video editing software Final Cut Pro (formerly FCPX, FCP 7 etc). If you want to market your software, use the monthly Dev/tools megathread.

All 6 rules of r/finalcutpro
  1. Be respectful
This subreddit contains people with a wide range of skills - from complete newbies to ninja level gurus; please be considerate of this and lean into support as opposed to antagonism and sarcasm. Posts or comments that are bitchy, unhelpful or over-argumentative will be removed. We observe Reddit Rules, please review https://redditinc.com/policies/reddit-rules
  2. This sub is for discussing all versions of FCP
This includes FCP 11.0.1 and all prior versions in addition to the iPad version. It is strongly recommended to include your software version, MacOS version and chip in your post if you have a particular issue. Posts about Motion are fine but be aware that there is a specific sub which has in-depth knowledge - r/applemotion has about 1.2K members.
  3. No piracy
Posts and comments suggesting piracy will be removed. 1st offence = 7 day ban 2nd offence = 14 day ban 3rd offence = permanent ban
  4. Mod discretion applies
Moderators may take action on posts outside of the rules defined above in efforts to keep the community friendly, on-topic, and spam-free. Mods will adapt and add to rules as the community evolves.
  5. Self-Promotion, Software Sales & YouTube Links

Repeat self-promo without engagement may be removed.
  6. No creative feedback requests
This is a sub for tech issues, not feedback requests.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
