What this page is

This page quotes r/furrydiscuss's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-10. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/furrydiscuss's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

All talk. A place for news, essays, reviews, interviews, organizing and writing about furries. Informative promotion for events and projects is OK. Please read the rules before posting. Welcome!

What its rules say about promotion

Promotion must not be spam
If you want to promote things, they must be inside a talk post. This isn't a place for plain ads, appeals for support, or asking people to follow without any other reason to read. Please make effort to write a useful, informative, original story for this community, and you can link at the end. Don't simply post a crowdfund, but an interesting story about an experience that links a crowdfund may be OK. Please keep the amount of posts about it reasonably low.
No malicious association
Don't promote, legitimize, enable, or sympathize with those who exist to undermine and exploit the community, from scammers, hate groups and the MAGA movement, to the likes of Altfurry, Furry Raiders, Free Fur All, Furry TMZ or Furry Valley. Zero tolerance for animal and child abuse offenders or enablers, including the interest that brings them together. Users of such spaces and *active enablers for such users* may be pro-actively removed without warning for inherently violating other rules.

What its rules say about AI and bots

No AI
Signs of composing with ChatGPT or similar may get a post locked, and if it's obviously made by AI, flag it for removal. Avoid pro-AI argument. AI isn't a neutral tool, it can mislead by looking well formatted while being confidently wrong, overwhelm by volume, and enable posting more than thinking, degrading learning and imposing problematic interaction. This is a community for humans by humans. A history of AI use can itself qualify for rejection to keep it that way.
All 11 rules of r/furrydiscuss
  1. Respect this community
This is for furries to talk to each other and anyone who is honestly curious. Come to engage others, stay on topic, learn, have fun, be cool, get along, and build community. Please avoid redirection off site unless it is transparent, minimal and for a good cause. This isn't a place for simple callouts, but is open to investigation or healthy criticism. Please don't shitpost or bait for attention or provoke argumentative conflict for its own sake, and leave deceptive agendas at the door.
  2. Post for quality
Posts need a FULL descriptive headline, specific topic, and reason to read and reply. Strong posts make thoughtful points with good sources. Avoid vague headlines, low effort questions you can google, "this happened" tidbits, anecdata or over-generalizing. Don't post for validation, like soliciting ego boosts or only Yes answers. Weak posts that need more research, go off track or use fallacies may get reminders to improve. These are guidelines and quality is up to mod discretion.
  3. No direct visual media posts, link it in a discussion
Art, memes or videos have many places to post. We don't want to be yet another one, although you can talk about it here, especially if you want to ask about learning technique or do analysis. You can start a discussion and include media links within.
  6. Discussion > rants
Rants, hot takes, venting, etc is defined as extreme opinions that give more emotion or frustration than reasoning, and use generalizing and anecdote instead of verifiable references. Rants tend to be more for validation or provocation or "I'm right" rather than give and take discussion with others, and make more heat than light. Investigation or healthy criticism is welcome, and you can do reasonable generalization that accommodates pros and cons, but please try to avoid ranting.
  7. Common Posts to avoid
Did you come here to say: What are furries? Why are furries? Am I a furry? I'm a new furry. I want to meet furries. I want a fursuit. I'm a straight male furry and... These are posts that come up over and over. Curiosity is fine, but we don't want them to drown out discussion by members who stick around and make more specific posts. They may be removed with a request to read the rules and use net search, use a thread already existing for comments like that, or use another subreddit.
  8. Avoid the Wheel of Discourse
The Wheel of Discourse is Rule 6 + Rule 7: Common rants on murky, ambivalent, or mischaracterized topics, especially kinks like babyfur. These tend to exaggerate or minimize to reach for conclusions when there aren't clear ones, so they go around and around. Contentious talk isn't banned, but is held to a high standard: give more than personal opinions that add nothing new, don't rant against criticism (personal taste includes distaste), and provide a real, specific, well-sourced reason to post.
  9. No harassing, trolling or manipulating around rules
You can criticize organizations and group behavior, but don't simply degrade communities, target individuals who don't engage you, or repeatedly push personal boundaries. Don't use bad faith to misinform, escalate conflict, or argue like the earth is flat or bigotry is good. Tone can be judged itself, so avoid line-pushing or argumentative flooding, and don't play "civil" for sealioning, concern-trolling, rules-lawyering, backseat modding or acting entitled to decide for this group.
  11. Minimize meta-discussion
Some basic healthy gatekeeping may apply. You can be judged by your behavior, character, and history on site or off, so don't try protesting "but my posts are good here". If a post isn't approved for this community, you're free to post it in your own spaces. Please avoid debating about what's up for debate. Thanks for respecting this. This is a test of whether you read and respect the rules as a guest, and a notification that annoying the mods is a fast way to get shown the door.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
