What its rules say about promotion

No overpromotion
Please limit your posts to no more than two per week. We want genuine engagement and discussion, not just repeated self-promotion. While we encourage developers to share their work, please be mindful of this rule and focus on quality contributions and meaningful interactions.
All 5 rules of r/GamesOnReddit
  1. Remember the human.
Be respectful of others and check your insults at the door. Don’t attack or call out other people or communities, and assume good faith of those participating here… even when tempers are high.
  2. Follow Reddit’s Content Policy
    That's it. That's the [rule](https://redditinc.com/policies/content-policy).
  3. Stay on topic
This community is focused on discussion around games built on Reddit’s Developer Platform. Please keep posts and comments relevant!
  4. No overpromotion
Please limit your posts to no more than two per week. We want genuine engagement and discussion, not just repeated self-promotion. While we encourage developers to share their work, please be mindful of this rule and focus on quality contributions and meaningful interactions.
  5. Requesting Feedback & Using the "Feedback" Flair
If you're looking for feedback on your developer platform app or idea, you must use the "Feedback" flair when submitting and have "Feedback" in the title. This helps other members quickly identify posts where constructive input is being requested.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
