What this page is

This page quotes r/Gymnastics's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Gymnastics's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

All 6 rules of r/Gymnastics
  1. Spam
"Spam" includes: * Business promotion or personal GoFundMe accounts * Karma-farming from r/all * Youtube-farming (e.g.: youtube accounts of non-famous minors) * Other "farming" of personal blogs/sites or using subreddit for personal gain * Non-gymnastics posts (e.g.: yoga or bodyweight fitness) * Surveys/Marketing Research * AI generated content Exception: OC from active users is welcome & encouraged! Otherwise, please message the mods for an exception.
  2. Bigotry/Reddiquette
Bigotry is unwelcome here. That includes (but is not limited to) racism, sexism, or homophobia. General reddiquette is also expected. Disagreements between users are fine! But don't be a jerk about it and start cursing out other users. And absolutely no harassment via unsolicited PMs or following users to other subreddits.
  3. "Am I Too Old...?" Posts
Adult Gymnastics is fantastic! But posts asking if you're too old to begin the sport have been covered ad nauseam and do not benefit to the community. They have the exact same answer every time: "No, you're not too old to start, but don't expect to be chosen to go to the Olympics over people who have been training for 2+ decades." Likewise, no one can tell you how long it will take you to learn a back tuck; see Rule 4. Questions about finding a local gym that offers adult gym are permitted.
  4. Armchair Coaching
This includes both asking for coaching advice as an athlete as well as advice on how to coach. This sport is very dangerous; we have no way of ensuring that advice given is safe. Too many injuries happen inside the gym while being correctly coached. Taking it outside of the gym can end horribly. "Try it into a pool!" sounds like great advice for someone asking to learn a flip... until they crack their head on the edge.
  5. Medical Advice
This is not a medical forum or doctor's office. We cannot diagnose or suggest treatment for any medical injury you may or may not have sustained from the sport. Similarly, we cannot give suggestions on how to train following an injury or how to train around an injury.
  6. Low Effort/Mod Discretion
Low effort posts will be removed at mod discretion. This includes a range of posts from reposts, to meme posts, to other posts with low/minimal substance. Additionally, accounts created with the sole point of being rude or agumentative will be banned (includes overlap with above rules).

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
