What this page is

This page quotes r/halo's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/halo's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

its rules on Reddit

Reddit's home for all things Halo, the legendary franchise that is currently curated by Activision, and previously maintained by both Bungie and Halo Studios.

What its rules say about promotion

Giveaways, soliciting, trading, etc.
Giveaways are allowed if they take place exclusively on Reddit and nothing is being received in return for the giveaway (e.g. a follow, subscription, or payment). If the giveaway is for something larger than a code, please message the mods beforehand. Threads or comments that are advertising, selling, trying to buy, trading, or begging for something are not allowed and will be removed.

Self-promotion/user content
You may promote your channel if you have a 5:1 ratio of r/Halo comments (on other users' threads) to self-promoting posts. If you do not meet the ratio, you can promote your content once every two months as long as your account is not primarily dedicated to self-promotion. If you are submitting others' content, you must give credit in the title and a source in the comments. If you see a post without credit, please message modmail or report the post **with a source**.

Banned sources
Due to violating r/Halo or Reddit-wide rules such as ban evasion, brigading, and self-promotion abuse, or for egregious behavior that is against our community's values, the following sources are banned from use: * Delta Index * EmpressCortana * Hailey Eira * Halo Hub * Rebs Gaming * Shyway * The Act Man Content may be reposted if the info can be found from a different source.

What its rules say about AI and bots

Banned submission types
To raise the standard of the subreddit, certain submission types are not allowed and will be removed. * Polls or surveys * Tier lists * Nostalgia bait (old vids, menus, etc.) * Call-to-action or petition posts * Scoreboard or achievement images without a sufficient post body * Non-rare merch pics * Content created with A.I.

All 12 rules of r/halo

Show basic courtesy and respect
No rude or uncivil comments/posts are allowed. There is absolutely no reason to be disrespectful to other users or developers, even if you feel they deserve it. *Examples that break this rule include, but are not limited to:* * Insults * Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism (including slurs) * Being hostile/condescending * Witchhunting (negative posts about a player that shows their gamertag) * Platform/input-shaming
Quality guidelines
Posts must be unique or newsworthy, with the goal of having civil discussions. Certain types of posts or comments may be removed to ensure that. *Examples that break this rule include, but are not limited to:* * Reposts, trends, or repetitive posts * Rants, unconstructive complaints, or doomposts * Trolling or antagonizing different opinions * Titles that are clickbait/misleading, vague, editorializing, or exaggerating * Off-topic or low-effort submissions

Image macros, memes, reaction images, etc.
Memes are only allowed to be posted on Meme Saturday (all day Saturday, Eastern Time Zone). This includes images with text overlayed or any other meme-based content. Original video memes may be allowed at moderator discretion. **Not all Saturdays are Meme Saturdays and we reserve the right to postpone it when needed. Please ensure the Meme Saturday thread is stickied before posting.**
Spoilers
New official lore and datamined/leaked game content are spoilers. Datamined/leaked lore isn't allowed. Lore may be freely discussed three months past release. Spoilers can only be discussed: * In mod-created threads * In threads with a vague title and Rumor/Leak/Datamine flair; [detailed outline on acceptable titles](https://reddit.com/r/halo/wiki/spoilers) * In comments with `>!spoiler tags!<`
Halo Plz
Items which are on Halo Plz are considered 'retired' and new posts about the subject will be removed, unless there is news relating to the 'retired' item.

Giveaways are allowed if they take place exclusively on Reddit and nothing is being received in return for the giveaway (e.g. a follow, subscription, or payment). If the giveaway is for something larger than a code, please message the mods beforehand. Keep it Halo
The content of all posts must be directly related to Halo. We do not allow content that is partially related to Halo only by name, reference, or the post's title. *Examples that break this rule include, but are not limited to:* * A Halo number (e.g. 117, 343) on something * An object that looks similar to or has the same name as something from Halo * Comment sections quoting or referencing Halo * Issues with other Halo communities * Non-canon "who would win" posts * Politics
No "looking for players/groups" threads
**Please use the "Looking for Group" channels in the [r/Halo Discord](https://discord.gg/rhalo).** This applies to all Achievement runs, play nights, Spartan Companies, team recruitment or any other search for other people to play with. *Well-organized community game nights or tournaments are allowed with prior moderator approval.*
Other detrimental content
Our listed rules aren't comprehensive. The /r/Halo mod team reserves the right to remove content or ban users as necessary if it is deemed detrimental to the subreddit or to the experience of others. This also includes NSFW content, cheats, and piracy in any form. *Any content that lowers the /r/Halo user experience can and will be removed. Ignorance of the rules or disagreeing with them does not excuse breaking them, nor does responding to someone that breaks them by doing so yourself.*

What the written rules don't show

Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
