What this page is

This page quotes r/HearMyMusic's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/HearMyMusic's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? This Subreddit is a place for musicians and artists to post their own music to receive peer feedback from musicians and music lovers. If you're looking for a gauge of how your song is sounding, or a more technical view on a new mix, this is the place! All posts must include the song's genre in the title.

What its rules say about promotion

Spam / Self promotion / Selling Goods or Services
Any posts that are spam, or aimed at financial gain or other purposes beyond getting feedback on your music are against the rules.
All 4 rules of r/HearMyMusic
  1. Original songs only - No Covers or Remixes
As a community, our focus is on providing feedback on people's own compositions. For that reason, Covers or Remixes are not allowed.
  2. Missing information in title
To assist people wanting to review tracks and find new music, we require all posts to include the following in the title of the post: Genre Artist Name Location (Country minimum). Any additional information you want to include can be in the title, or left as a comment on the post.
  3. Spam / Self promotion / Selling Goods or Services
Any posts that are spam, or aimed at financial gain or other purposes beyond getting feedback on your music are against the rules.
  4. NSFW / Inappropriate content
To keep our subreddit appropriate for all ages, we ask for no inappropriate content. We understand that some album art may contain depictions that are adult-themed - so just request they're tasteful. Think of if it would be allowed on the shelf of a record shop or played on Kerrang!

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
