What this page is

This page quotes r/Hosting's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Hosting's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

All 5 rules of r/Hosting
  1. No advertising or spamming
Do not advertise your products or services anywhere. r/Hosting exists for neutral discussion on hosting providers, not as a place for companies to advertise or otherwise promote their products.
  2. No affiliate or referral links
Affiliate links and referral links are not allowed and are automatically removed by AutoModerator.
  3. No astroturfing
When making recommendations or suggestions for hosting providers, you must disclose any connections you have to the hosting company in question. Astroturfing is not allowed and is often easy for users to see through anyway.
  4. No AI Generated Low Quality Posts / Replies
Using a LLM because English is not your native language is fine, but using a LLM to copy AI Slop replies to boost your reply count or visibility is not allowed and may be removed at moderators discretion.
  5. No Private Message Requests
This community is here to help all users solve their issue. If you ask someone to send you a private message or "DM" your post will be removed and you may be banned. If you can't say it in public, don't say it at all.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
