What this page is
This page quotes r/macsysadmin's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-13. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/macsysadmin's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

What its rules say about AI and bots
Do not use ChatGPT or AI
This profession requires deep critical thinking and problem solving skills, and AI tools like ChatGPT are an insult to your own intelligence. Additionally, these tools are prone to hallucinate incorrect information with an authoritative confidence. Its use is not condoned here. Posts that mention ChatGPT or assistance from AI will be removed at the moderator's discretion.
All 7 rules of r/macsysadmin
- No support for personal devices or home networks
Keep posts related to the administration of macOS or iOS devices at your place of employment. If the post is related to your personal device or home network it will likely be removed. Some exceptions are made for high-effort, highly technical posts that would be of interest to Mac administrators. - No bypassing MDM, ABM, or Activation Lock
Posts asking for help with removing or bypassing device management or activation lock (Find My...) are not permitted. Contact the IT department of the organization that issued the device. - No spam, sales pitches, or messages thinly disguised as sales.
This is a forum for IT admins to help other admins. Sales pitches and other spam are not allowed and may result in a ban at the moderator's discretion. Those working in SE roles ("sales engineer") *may* provide support here if they have a specific answer (of a technical nature) that might solve another admin's issue. - Do not use ChatGPT or AI

Rude comments or personal attacks will be removed and may result in a ban. - No memes or low-effort posts
This is a subreddit for IT professionals to help each other. Memes and low-effort posts are subject to removal at moderator discretion. - All posts must be in English.
To maximize engagementwith audiences in multiple countries, all posts must be written in English. Posts made in other languages will be given a warning, and the OP will be asked to make a new post.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
