What its rules say about promotion

No Self-Promotion/Advertising/Surveys/Product Testing
Do not make posts to generate followers for your Youtube channel or your blog. We also do NOT allow use of this sub for product testing e.g. apps or self-promotion/advertising, sharing of discount codes/vouchers or market research via thinly veiled parenting posts. Your post will be removed and you may be banned. We aren't allowing academic surveys at this time.

  1. Don't Be a Jerk
    Remember the human on the other side of the screen. When talking to someone you might want to ask yourself "Would I say it to the person's face?". Treat everyone with respect; it's possible to get your point across or plain disagree without being rude. Being a jerk includes but is not limited to: personal attacks, racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, derogatory or dehumanizing language, including insults and general incivility. We also don't allow bashing or making fun of other subs.
  2. No Soliciting or asking for/sending copyright material
    Do not solicit or ask for donations or funding of any kind. Use subreddits specific for this purpose, such as r/Assistance. Posts of this nature will be removed and users permanently banned. Reddit rules prevent the sharing of copyright material without the owner's permission. Posts or comments asking for or offering copyright material will be deleted and repeat offenders banned.
  3. No Spam
    Spam will be removed and users placed on a permanent ban. This includes AI/bot accounts.
  4. No Facebook/Instagram-Style Content
    Personal photos and videos are not allowed as standalone posts and will be removed. Memes and other non-personal photos (e.g. infographics) are allowed. However, low-quality memes (including memes that have pictures of your children) fall under personal photos and will be removed as well (along with reposts).
  5. No Self-Promotion/Advertising/Surveys/Product Testing
    Do not make posts to generate followers for your Youtube channel or your blog.   6. No Medical Advice
    Discussing medical topics is allowed, including asking others for their personal experience. That said, Reddit is NOT a source of medical advice. Please contact a local healthcare provider if you require precise and/or immediate medical guidance.
  7. No Anti-vax Misinformation or Support
    Discussion of different ideas is great, but the anti-vaccine movement thrives on the spread of disinformation. We will not be a place for that disinformation to be repeated. Any anti-vaccine statements will be removed and users banned at mods' discretion.
  8. No Brigading or Trolling
    Users who don't regularly participate in this sub as new parents and come to argue hot button issues will be banned immediately without warning.
  9. Relationship Posts must be in the daily discussion thread
    All relationship posts must be posted in the weekly discussion thread. This includes non-romantic relationships, such as with your in-laws.
  10. No Dirty Diaper Pics
    If you have questions about your baby's poop, contact your pediatrician
  11. No posts about Circumcision
    Posts where the primary topic is about circumcision are not allowed.
  12. No posts about undiagnosed/suspected autism.
    This includes directly asking if your baby is autistic, listing "symptoms" and asking for comments, or asking if other people have had similar experiences to you and it turned out that their baby was autistic. If you have concerns about autism, please speak to a medical professional.
  13. Do not attempt to evade rules with reposts
    If you attempt to repost a post that was removed for rule violations, without making substantive changes that bring the post in compliance with the rules, you will be temporarily banned. Repeat violators will be permanently banned.
  14. No posts asking about vaccine experiences or whether you should vaccinate your child
    We no longer allow posts asking for experiences of how babies have handled xyz vaccines, what reactions others have experienced and whether you should get xyz vaccine for your baby. This sub (and other parenting subs) are full of these posts - please use the search tool, and direct any questions about whether a vaccine is right for your baby to a medical professional. Unfortunately, these posts create a lot of work to moderate and invite antivax trolls into our sub.
  15. No standalone posts seeking must have products
    We will no longer be approving standalone posts seeking must have baby or registry products. Please use the search function.
