What this page is

This page quotes r/Norway's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Norway's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

All 9 rules of r/Norway
  1. Keep it Norway focussed
Posts should be related to Norway. This can include events happening in the community, newsworthy happenings, questions that encourage discussions about Norway, its people, culture, or history, etc...
  2. Be respectful and civil
We're here for discussion and debate and while differences in opinion will happen, please keep it civil. Any blatantly rude comments, name-calling, racist, bigoted, sexist, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, etc... posts will be automatically removed. Repeat offenders may face temporary or permanent ban from the sub.
  3. No personal or confidential information
This can include names, addresses, phone numbers, licence plates, etc...
  4. No immigration posts
This is not an immigration subreddit. Questions asking for crowd-sourced information related to immigration, including residency permits, tourist visas, or other topics under the purview of the immigration department will be deleted. If you have questions about immigration, read the sticky post at the top of the sub or consult www.udi.no Questions about immigration topics may be acceptable if they are general questions that encourage discussion/community engagement.
  5. No spam, low-effort, or self-promotion posts
The purpose of this sub is to encourage community engagement. We do not accept low-effort memes, personal promotion (without explicit permission from the mods), trolling behaviour, vote manipulation, etc... We do not accept AI-created posts or images. This subreddit also doesn't allow research surveys or calls for participants (academic or otherwise). Posts about job-searching, job-prospects, etc... will also be removed.
  6. Travel requests
This subreddit is not here to plan your vacation. Internet searches, google translate , etc... should be your first step. If you're looking for tips in a specific city, try searching the subreddit first. If you're still looking for information, give r/NorwayTravelAdvice a look. If you still want to post here, please give us something to work with. Get specific on what you're interested in or what you don't want to do, etc... posts that are frequent reposts will be removed without warning.
  7. Repost
All subs have reposts and they can sometimes encourage interesting discussions; however, frequent reposts will be deleted. Questions like "Where should I live", "Should I move to Norway", repeated memes, etc... can be removed at the discretion of the mod team. If you're not sure if your question is a repost, use the search function at the top of the subreddit.
  8. Use descriptive titles and include location [in brackets] for photos
Original content is preferred. Please provide a source or credit for content you did not create or own yourself. Satirical news posts should be marked as [satire] to avoid the spread of misinformation.
  9. Moderator discretion
Moderators retain the discretion to remove any post at any time if they feel it is violating the rules of Reddit, the subreddit, or intended to incite abuse, troll, or anything else that could be deemed offensive.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
