What this page is
This page quotes r/penguins's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/penguins's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

- Be Respectful & Don't Be a Jagoff
All posts must be related to the Pittsburgh Penguins ranging from player/coaching news to fandom/merchandising. Low effort posts, memes, AI content/slop, or "shit-posts" can be removed at the moderator's discretion. Rumors and speculation posts that are misleading may also be removed at the moderator's discretion. Do not make personal attacks on other posters. Be as respectful to them as you expect them to be to you. Report rule breaking content - do NOT fire back. - Off-topic Subjects
Posts should have some connection to the Pittsburgh Penguins. If you post about other teams or people associated with other teams, you must explain how your topic affects the Penguins. Posts that don't have some connection to the Penguins will be removed. No discussion of politics or religion. If it's controversial, yet directly related to the team (e.g. Anthem Protests), the mods reserve the right to keep or allow the content if it is relevant. - Discrimination
Hateful comments are NOT tolerated. No racism, sexism, misogyny, prejudice, discrimination, etc. of ANY kind. /r/penguins is an equal community for all to browse and enjoy. The assessment of any report that may violate this rule will be done at the moderator's discretion. Severe violations of this rule will result in a permanent ban. - No Trolling or Flame-baiting
Commenting with the intent to annoy other posters or to start arguments in bad faith are not welcome. If you think you're violating this rule, reread your post and think it over a moment before hitting the submit button. Going into an opposing team's subreddit and causing problems such as flame-baiting or generating negativity amongst their community WILL get you banned from /r/penguins Reddiquette expectations [here](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette) - Ticket and Merchandise Sales
This is not a marketplace. Jersey and merchandise sales are not allowed on /r/penguins All ticket sales posts must be made on /r/penstickets - Be A Fan
What's this mean exactly? Don't participate in this subreddit and be excessively/overwhelmingly/hyperbolicly negative. To be clear, negativity as a whole is not banned. Genuinely criticizing a player or the front office or whomever is fine. However, if your post history is filled with vitriol, toxicity, and targeted harassment, expect to be removed from the conversation. We are all fans here after all. Repeated offenders WILL be banned. - No Low Effort Posts or Post Titles
No low effort posts/posts that don’t generate discussion. Link directly to articles. Do not change or editorialize your titles - save opinions for comments. Use titles that accurately describe your post. Short titles aren’t good titles. - Self-Promotion
All self promotion that includes blogs, podcasts, videos, highlights, websites, etc. are not allowed before clearing your submission with the moderators through modmail. If you are not an active participant in the /r/penguins community, you will be denied and/or your submission removed. - No AI-generated content
This includes AI-generated text as well as AI-generated art. Note: All artwork requires attribution.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
