What this page is
This page quotes r/pokemon's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/pokemon's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
Follow discussion and poll post restrictions
Discussion **should be in text posts**. Image-based discussion is allowed if it breaks no other rules (see Rules 5, 7, 8). Discussion posts, including polls, must be **50+ words** (bodytext) to promote conversation. Word padding will result in a ban. Exception: OC media, i.e. poetry or fanfiction. **Objective questions** with "correct" answers and buying/selling questions belong in the [**Weekly Questions Thread**](//rpkmn.center/questions) or [value megathread](//rpkmn.center/weekly/value).
No trades or other exchanges
**Posts for trades, giveaways or exchanges** are not allowed on this subreddit. Battles are limited to weekly [Battle Request Threads](https://rpkmn.center/weekly/battles). **This includes:** * Trade posts of any kind * Code begging/merch begging * Code giveaways outside of the [monthly thread](https://rpkmn.center/monthly/giveaway) * Friend code exchanges or referrals * Battle requests * Buying/selling, commissions * Anything else that might be considered a trade or exchange
No advertisement or self-promotion (click for exceptions)
/r/pokemon **does not allow store pages, personal blogs, or social media** (including chat servers), and event adverts. Exceptions include important information from industry social media, and official vendors like The Pokemon Center. The OC Exception: - Users may include **one self-promotional top-level comment** (with social media, stores, etc) to accompany **original content.** - OC creators may also reply with links to anyone who asks. - Please keep self-promotion out of post titles.
Flag spoilers appropriately
Spoilers are allowed, but they **must be flagged** as such. |Not Spoilers|Spoilers| |-|-| | Content from official media or advertising, like trailers or posters | Content from new releases (games, anime, manga, etc.) that was not in official media* || *For 2 weeks after worldwide release Please use the `spoiler` tag as needed, and keep spoilers **out of post titles**, which cannot be hidden. What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
