What this page is

This page quotes r/skyrimmods's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/skyrimmods's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No Piracy
Digital piracy will not be tolerated in any shape or form. - Posting links to pirated material, encouraging piracy or asking for assistance with pirated content will result in a ban. - This includes sharing/rehosting a mod without the original author’s express permission, as well as linking mods that contain assets illegally ripped from other games/media. - Paywalled mods may be discussed but not promoted. Official Bethesda Creations are exempt from this.
Tag NSFW Content
All NSFW content must be accompanied with an NSFW tag. - The same goes for posts that reference, advertise or promote NSFW content. - NSFW content unrelated to Skyrim does not belong here and will be deleted. - Content that breaches Reddit guidelines, or is deemed too offensive, will be removed at the moderation team's discretion.
No Unrelated Posts or Content
- All posts and comments must be related to Skyrim modding and on topic. Modding news is welcome. - Unrelated material, such as discussions about real-world events, politics, etc. will be removed. - Random Skyrim screenshots, videos and meme posts will be removed. Check the “Related Subreddits” tab for alternatives. - Screenshots or videos in the context of asking for help or promoting specific mods are acceptable.

What its rules say about AI and bots

AI Policies & Guidelines
We do not allow or encourage the use of an AI in the troubleshooting process. AI, while it may seem helpful at first, often hallucinates advice and hurts more than it helps. Posts or comments suggesting the use of AI for the modding process will be removed. Posts written by generative AI will be removed. Beyond the fact that these posts can present misinformation to the reader unintentionally, they are also not an acceptable substitute for thorough, hands-on advice, support, and troubleshooting.

  1. Be Kind, Civil and Respectful
    - Everyone must be civil and respectful to ensure a healthy and welcoming community. We expect everyone to behave with good intentions and to follow Redditquette. - Harassment, bigotry, personal attacks and sharing misinformation will not be tolerated. This includes trolling, baiting, witch-hunting, etc. - Constructive criticism must be given tactfully. Retaliation is not tolerated on this subreddit. Disrespect does not excuse further disrespect. Report inflammatory comments and move on.

  5. Do Your Research
To avoid spam, everyone must research their questions before posting, either by reading the subreddit FAQ or doing a Google/subreddit search. - Modding guides, recommended mods and answers to common questions can be found in the FAQ. - Low-effort questions with no research will be removed. This includes questions like "New modder, what mods should I get?" and "Returning modder, what's new?" Post Guidelines: * [[Help]](http://tinyurl.com/zrs3mut) * [[Request]](http://tinyurl.com/zezwuyc)
  6. Provide Necessary Information
    - When asking for modding assistance you must provide necessary information, e.g. your mod list, ini files, and a full crash log in your OP. - Screenshots of modlists aren't accepted. Use a repository. - You are required to post the above information even if you believe it "unnecessary." - Keep in mind that people are spending their free time helping you! Be kind and show respect. Posts and comments containing factually and verifiably incorrect statements pertaining to Skyrim and Skyrim modding may be subject to removal.
  9. Paid Content, Commissions, and Bounties
We do not allow direct links to paid content from sites like Patreon, Ko-fi, Gumroad, and etc. We also do not allow commission requests, bounty posts to pay troubleshooters to create mods, or offers of payment in exchange for technical help. Reviews of paid content are allowed provided they follow all listed guidelines.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
