    Use clear and descriptive titles for posts. Ambiguous or clickbait titles may be subject to removal.
  7. Respect Privacy
    Do not share personal information about others without their consent.
  8. No Low-Quality Advice
    Provide thoughtful and constructive advice. Avoid generic or low-quality responses.
  9. Use Flairs Appropriately
    Assign the appropriate flair to your post to help categorise content effectively.
  10. No Shaming or Discrimination
    Do not engage in shaming, discrimination, or any form of prejudiced behaviour. This includes but is not limited to race, gender, or socioeconomic status.
  11. Report Unwanted Content
    Use the report feature to bring attention to any posts or comments that violate the rules.
  12. Follow Reddit Guidelines
    Adhere to the overall rules and guidelines set by Reddit. This includes no illegal content, no doxxing, and respect for intellectual property.
  13. Feedback Constructively
    If providing feedback, ensure it is constructive and helps the poster improve their idea.
  14. No Low-Effort Posts
    Low-effort posts, memes, or content that doesn't contribute meaningfully may be removed.
  15. Moderator Discretion
    Moderators have the right to enforce rules at their discretion for the overall health of the community.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
