What this page is

This page quotes r/takemysurvey's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/takemysurvey's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Post and take surveys!

What its rules say about promotion

After you post...
AutoModerator will reply to every post with a list of questions. In most cases, you do not need to fill these out. However, if your survey is being used for academic research (school projects excluded) or conducted by more than one person (for example, a marketing survey), they are required.
Spam comments
Commenting "done" or "complete" on a survey is considered spam and will result in a temporary ban. Commenting a link to your survey, whether linking directly to it or to your post on this subreddit, is also considered spam.

What its rules say about AI and bots

NO "chatbot" surveys
Some survey sites have a feature that allows you to automatically generate a "chatbot" to ask al of your survey questions. These types of surveys are not allowed here as they are hard for us to moderate since we have to take the survey to see all the questions. We will remove them and ask that you repost them as normal surveys.
All 12 rules of r/takemysurvey
  1. Child Privacy
Surveys that aim to collect data on minors (18 and under) without explicitly outlining how this data will be used are NOT ALLOWED and will be removed. Minors: Please be careful when giving out your personal information online. Be sure you understand who is getting your data and how they will be using it. If you are unsure where your data is going or what it is being used for, DO NOT GIVE IT OUT.
  2. Surveys marked EVERYONE
If your survey is marked as open to everyone, that means it is open to EVERYONE, regardless of race, location, gender, sexual orientation, etc. If a survey is marked as everyone and certain people are excluded or discouraged from filling it out, it will be removed immediately.
  3. Posts must be a link to a survey, nothing else.
  4. After you post...
AutoModerator will reply to every post with a list of questions. In most cases, you do not need to fill these out. However, if your survey is being used for academic research (school projects excluded) or conducted by more than one person (for example, a marketing survey), they are required.
  5. Repost policy
Reposts are allowed one month from your original post if you did not receive a response to your original survey. The same survey can only be posted three times (original post and two reposts) before it is blacklisted (cannot be posted again). Deleting your post and then reposting COUNTS as a repost, and you cannot do this before one month has passed.
  6. Do not fill out or submit spam or meme surveys
If your survey is low quality, meant as a joke, or just spammy in general, it will be removed and you will not be allowed to repost it.
  7. NSFW
NSFW surveys are allowed as long as they are marked with the NSFW tag. Surveys are classified as NSFW if they include swear words, slurs, adult imagery, or anything that someone under the age of 12 should not be looking at.
  8. Spam comments
Commenting "done" or "complete" on a survey is considered spam and will result in a temporary ban. Commenting a link to your survey, whether linking directly to it or to your post on this subreddit, is also considered spam.
  9. No doxxing
Do not post anyone's personal information without their consent.
  11. No Reddit Polls
  12. No "Survey Trains"
Posts that encourage spam (ex. "Take my survey and drop your link below") are not allowed and will result in a temporary ban.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
