What this page is
This page quotes r/tycoon's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. What its rules say about promotion
No self promotion spam
Game introductions and release announcements are fine. Regular development updates and other news should go megathreads or stickied posts. If your only participation in this subreddit is to promote games that you're associated with, you're breaking this rule.
Generative AI disclosure required for promotional submissions
Creating a submission that directly or indirectly promotes a particular game (or multiple games) requires an AI disclosure. This free text disclosure section can be added as part of the submission state or as a separate comment, and requires developers or promotors to explain in brief detail if any generative AI tools were used, and for which purposes. If no AI was used, the disclosure is still required. Simply state "No AI was used in the making of this game".

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
