What this page is

This page quotes r/Vocaloid's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Vocaloid's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? Vocaloid is a singing synthesis technology and software that enables users to synthesize "singing" by typing in lyrics and melody. This subreddit serves as a place for discussion and sharing links related to Vocaloid and other synthesizers, such as SynthV, Utau, etc.

What its rules say about promotion

No piracy
Discussion that involve piracy for software/songs/models available for purchase will be removed. This includes software troubleshooting posts. This also includes discussion of fanmade voice ports/voicebanks/utaus made with commercial vocal synth software recordings (ie an UTAU made from recordings of Hatsune Miku) Please note: for software that is no longer available for commercial purchase (ie. Vocaloid 1 LEON) piracy discussion/troubleshooting is allowed but links cannot be posted.

What its rules say about AI and bots

No AI content.
AI artwork, music, or other content is not permitted. Note that this rule does not prohibit bona fide vocal synths that leverage AI technology.
All 8 rules of r/Vocaloid
  1. Limited NSFW is allowed
NSFW discussion is allowed as there are many Vocaloid songs with controversial or mature themes. However, fanart posts cannot have exposed nipples or Genitalia. Additionally, NSFW posts can be removed at moderator discretion if it interferes with quality discussions on the subreddit.
  2. Act civilly.
Be polite and courteous. Act like an adult. Arguing in the comments is not allowed. Do not respond to somebody acting incivil, report it to the moderators instead. Do not bring in drama from outside communities. Do not use this as a platform for character assassinations.
  3. Only post quality content.
Low quality posts such as single sentence headcanons, image macros, cut and paste content, MS Paint drawings, screenshots/screencaps etc. are not permitted.
  4. Stay on topic
Posts should be related to actual vocal synthesizers. Fanloids are considered off topic, as they are not vocal synthesizers. Project Sekai, BRS, Kagepro, Evilious Chronicles, etc. is not automatically on topic, so make sure you tie things back to actual synthesizers.
  5. Non OC fanart must be a direct link to the source.
When sharing fanart which isn't original content, your post must be a direct link to the source. (e.g. Twitter, Pixiv. etc.)
  6. Share non-OC fan art once per day.
You are limited to one post per day of fan art that you did not create. This rule does not apply to original content.
  7. No AI content.
AI artwork, music, or other content is not permitted. Note that this rule does not prohibit bona fide vocal synths that leverage AI technology.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
