What this page is
This page quotes r/Webnovel's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Webnovel's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
Self Promotion
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 4: Self Promotion. Self promotion should be contained to the weekly self-promotion post. Not doing so will result in your post being removed. Self promotion includes but is not limited to: - Displaying the title of your novel in screenshots, covers, and other images. - Adding links to posts or comments. - Asking someone to read your novel. - Mentioning your novel in posts and comments. This is a three-strike rule.
Review/Collection/PS Swaps
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 6: Review/Collection/PS Swaps. You have asked for, or engaged with another person to arrange review, collection, or power stone swaps. That is not what this subreddit is for, and if you really must ask for that, do it in the correct format in the self-promotion post at the top of the subreddit.
All 8 rules of r/Webnovel
- Respect
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 1: Respect. In short: don't be an asshole. Long-form: No bullying, trolling, harassment, doxxing, racism, sexism or discrimination of any kind. - Piracy
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 2: Piracy. Looking for, or providing ways, for people to read webnovels illegally will not be tolerated here and will not result in a temporary ban, but a permanent one. If you haven't read the rules, that's on you. - Related Posts
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 3: Related Posts. Posts should only contain content for or about Webnovel, whether that be an author's work (not your own), a question about the platform, or something else. - Self Promotion
- YouTube Novels
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 5: YT Novels. Don't be asking about novels you found on YouTube here. There are better communities on Reddit for that which aren't so focused on a single platform for webnovels, with people who read and write in other platforms. - Review/Collection/PS Swaps
- Webnovel Only
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 7: Webnovel Only. This community is only made for the Webnovel community and not webnovels in general. Keep Wattpad, Royal Road, and other such apps and platforms out of posts and comments while you're here. - Cover Art
You have posted or commented something which is against Rule 8: Cover Art. We, authors and readers of Webnovel, are not here to judge, rate, rank, or help you with your cover art. That is not what this subreddit is for. Go to the official Discord server and post in the novel artwork channel for that.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
