  1. Please help newcomers & respect each other. No insults or rude or hateful comments.
    There are a lot of people who venture into this sub who are new to the subject. Remember where you came from and the feeling when you first discovered astral projection. Respect others: everyone has to start somewhere. Be helpful! Insults or rude or hateful comments will not be tolerated. This is a mature space for people seeking spiritual experiences of the astral world. Help everyone, keep an open mind, do not judge people's beliefs, and be understanding. Respect and courtesy is paramount.
  2. No low effort posts. Read the pinned post + wiki before posting. Posts should be clear and coherent.
    There are too many of the same questions in this subreddit. Make sure you read the pinned post and also the wiki. You should also check previous posts before posting; use the search bar. Your question has probably been answered many times before. If you do decide to post a question or share information, make sure your post is clear, grounded, and makes sense.
  3. Flair your submissions accordingly. Want to conduct an AMA? Read more for instructions.

  4. No "reality shifting" posts! Only genuine AP experiences are allowed. This is a non-fiction sub.
    Dreams, lucid dreaming & "reality shifting" are NOT astral projection. Astral projection is characterized by awakened consciousness that is NOT projecting subconsciousness dreams from one's ego. Posting "fake" Astral Projection experiences or fictional stories disguised as such for the purpose of gaining attention, disruption, flamebaiting or gaslighting are not allowed here. This sub is focused on the authentic spiritual practice of AP & non-physical states of awareness.
  5. Report members who use the 'Experienced Projector' User Flair + you don't think they're experienced.
    Anyone can assign any user flair to themselves. However, make sure you choose your flair honestly! Your flair should truthfully reflect your experience and knowledge in the field of OBEs. If you feel a member has assigned themself the wrong role, report it to us. Staff will review the member but keep in mind we respect everyone's freedom and the openness of the topic of OBEs. If such a member displays very clear signs of irregularities with their flair, we will take action.
  6. Lucid Dreaming & Reality Shifting is NOT the same as Astral Projection. Do NOT spread misinformation
    This subreddit is dedicated to understanding the reality of Astral projection. That means that we must understand what lucid dreaming is too; which is entirely different -- hence why there are two separate words for each one. The beginning of our Wiki explains the difference between these two phenomena. As a general guideline; dreams are dreams, which are fantasies submerged in the subconscious. Astral projection is about perceiving direct, objective reality just as we do in physical life.

  8. Share responsibly: no fear-mongering, flamebaiting, gaslighting, self-harm or disruptive posts
    Scary or unsettling astral experiences are valid to share, and full documentation is welcome. Please write with mindfulness: share details that help others learn, not just to shock or sensationalize. If your post contains gore, extreme horror, or content that may not be suitable for minors, add a disclaimer at the beginning or mark it as NSFW. Sharing for guidance and education is encouraged; posting only to frighten or disrupt is not allowed.
  9. Don't be too extreme in your convictions and don't impose your beliefs on others.
    More of a tip than a rule but if you completely burrow yourself in what you believe is true, you will disable the ability to learn. The very nature of this subject is undefinable, keep your mind open to all possibilities and input from others, and most of all respect other's beliefs. If you are to venture deeper into this subject, staying open would be your best tool to achieve what you are looking for.
  10. No proselytizing or pushing religious beliefs/dogma to others, this is a spiritual sub.
    Being religious is fine, but being not is as well. It is an individual discussion. We ask that you respect the free will of others by not pushing your beliefs on them and being angry or spreading fear among them just because they are in a different path from yours, and just because they want to follow their heart; their free will. “People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness.     If you desire to post a video or a book/painting/drawing/digital art/picture that you created/found online: - Make sure it is related to out of body experiences/astral projection/dreams. - Put the appropriate title of the content on your post. - Put the link (i.e. YouTube for videos, Imgur for artworks) in the body. - Put the appropriate flair for your post.

    Please make it a rule to protect your own and other people's privacy online; respect the privacy of others by not asking them about their private information. Maintaining anonymity on the internet is a good practice for your own protection. If you're going to report someone, please refrain from posting their personal/private information out of respect; just give such info to proper authorities (e.g. police) instead. Don't post it in this sub.
  14. Content needs to be on-topic, including no standalone LD content.
    Content needs to be on topic and in accordance with the subject of Astral Projection. Lucid Dreaming (LD) is part of many Astral Projection practices, and such posts are welcome only when they clearly relate to Astral Projection—for example, transitions, techniques, signs of separation, or insights that improved AP practice. Standalone LD posts that do not mention or connect to AP may be removed. Please use the LD ↔ AP flair when sharing combined experiences.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
