What this page is
This page quotes r/AudioProgramming's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/AudioProgramming's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
No AI Music Generation
AI music is objectively terrible and the promotion of any software that aids in its creation is not allowed in this sub.
Stay on topic
Posts should relate to audio programming: real-time audio, plugin development (VST/AU/etc.), audio ML, synthesis, audio APIs, game audio programming, and related engineering topics
No low-effort posts, Self-promotion or Advertising
Do not post about any plugin/daw/synth/app or service that is for sale, needs beta testers or other forms of self-promotion. Excessive or repeated self-promo may be removed. In addition, ensure your post is well worded, thought out and formatted.
No piracy or cracked software
Don't request or share pirated DAWs, plugins, or SDKs.
What its rules say about AI and bots
No AI Project Posts
We love seeing what people build, but projects that are largely AI-generated with little personal understanding or effort behind them aren't a great fit here. This is a space to learn and grow as audio programmers, so if you're sharing something that's entirely AI, Share it in the weekly project thread.

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
