What this page is

This page quotes r/AIDiscussion's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-10. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/AIDiscussion's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about AI and bots

AI-Generated Content Must Add Value
AI-generated text, images, videos, or other content should not be posted solely for engagement or content farming. When AI-generated material is central to a post, provide appropriate disclosure and meaningful context.
All 7 rules of r/AIDiscussion
  1. Stay on Topic
Posts and comments must be meaningfully related to artificial intelligence, including its technical, philosophical, ethical, social, or scientific aspects. Off-topic content may be removed.
  2. No Reposts from Other Subreddits
Posts or content directly reposted from other subreddits are not allowed. Please create original posts for this community. Reposts may be removed at moderator discretion.
  3. No Low Effort Content
Posts should contribute something meaningful to the discussion. Low-effort questions, empty opinions, engagement bait, repetitive posts, and content without sufficient context may be removed.
  4. Debate in Good Faith
Disagreement is encouraged, but engage honestly with other people's arguments. Do not troll, deliberately misrepresent others, derail discussions, or argue solely to provoke.
  5. No Harassment
Criticize ideas, not people. Insults, harassment, threats, targeted hostility, and personal attacks are not permitted. Strong disagreement is fine when kept respectful.
  6. No Spam or Excessive Promotion
Do not use the subreddit primarily to advertise products, services, projects, websites, or other communities. Relevant self-promotion may be allowed when it genuinely contributes to the discussion.
  7. AI-Generated Content Must Add Value
AI-generated text, images, videos, or other content should not be posted solely for engagement or content farming. When AI-generated material is central to a post, provide appropriate disclosure and meaningful context.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
