What its rules say about promotion
NO SPAMMING
Whilst this is a place to share and promote your work, please limit self-promotional content to once every 2 weeks. Please do not repost content without first agreeing this with a mod. Spamming will result in the content being removed. Posting the same content from multiple accounts will result in a warning, then, if spamming continues, a permanent ban. Repeated posting of any other content will also be treated in the same manner.
NO AI CONTENT
This is an AI free zone. Any AI writing or artwork or the promotion/self-admitted of use in creative work or mentioned of title will be removed. Also, if you are promoting a book and do not link it, the post will be assumed to possess AI & preemptively removed. Continued breaches may result in a temporary or permanent ban. If you believe a post contains AI content, please report this rather than making allegations within the comments sections of the post. Baseless accusations will be removed.
NO SELLING OR BUYING
r/NewAuthor does not allow individual buying and selling in the comments of this subreddit. Comments that go beyond general self-promotion and actively seek to broker sales agreements with individual users will be removed. Any agreements between users should take place in their own DMs. Repeated infringement will result in the users involved being banned.

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
