What this page is

This page quotes r/poetry_critics's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/poetry_critics's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

This is a subreddit for constructive criticism and feedback on all types of poetry. Our primary goal with this sub is to ensure that every poem that is submitted gets a good amount of quality feedback. Please sort by 'new' to see posts that have little or no feedback.

All 4 rules of r/poetry_critics
  1. Critique two poems before posting your own
Every new poem you post must be accompanied by two more critiques. We have a bot that helps us identify users who are not contributing critiques but we still have human mods double-checking, so please do not think you can fool the bot by doing the bare minimum. [Learn the rules by which the bot works](https://www.reddit.com/r/poetry_critics/comments/emgrq4/more_community_updates_new_bot_small_relaxation/) and abide by them and you should be fine.
  2. Make critiques substantive
Please do your best to make your critiques substantive. Critiques that only say "Nice," or "I like it" will not be counted. [Please see this post for basic critique guidelines.](https://www.reddit.com/r/poetry_critics/comments/dtw1oj/what_is_a_critique_a_quick_guide_to_giving/) To learn how to master giving feedback, [check out this post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/OCPoetry/comments/e8ietf/how_to_give_feedback_on_a_poem/)
  3. Select a user flair that indicates your skill level before posting
[See this post for more information.](https://www.reddit.com/r/poetry_critics/comments/e8unl5/skill_level_flair_is_now_live_starting_1216_only/) Beginners have 0-5 years experience, Intermediates have 5-10 years experience, and Experts have 10+ years experience. Professionals derive some income from writing. If you cannot figure out how to set your flair, [please read this help page.] (https://www.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205242695-How-do-I-get-user-flair-/)
  4. Be nice
This subreddit is for *constructive* criticism and feedback; overly negative comments will be removed and may result in a temporary ban. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, harassment, and other similar behavior will result in an immediate permanent ban.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
